Keith J. Reisman
practices in the areas of personal injury litigation, commercial
litigation, state and local taxation (including property tax
appeals), appeals, environmental and land use litigation and
transportation litigation.
Mr. Reisman has experience in handling diverse types
of personal injury matters. Over the last eighteen years, Mr.
Reisman has litigated cases regarding injuries arising out of motor
vehicle accidents, airplane accidents, slip and falls and product
defects, to name a few. Mr. Reisman has represented clients in
a wide range of commercial litigation matters, particularly in
issues relating to computer technology and its implementation.
Tax matters handled by Mr. Reisman include appeals
of property tax assessments (both residential and
commercial/industrial properties) and disputes relating to sales and
use taxes. Mr. Reisman's appellate work has involved diverse legal
issues including aviation law, property taxation, employee injuries
and personal injuries. He has appeared before the United States
Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Georgia Supreme
Court, and the Court of Appeals of Georgia.
Zoning, land use permitting and environmental
permitting are additional areas of Mr. Reisman's practice. In
particular, Mr. Reisman has experience with the permitting process
of the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the State of
Georgia's Environmental Protection Division. In addition to the
permitting process, Mr. Reisman handles litigation relating to these
matters and is experienced with the negotiation of reduced penalties
for violations of the various environmental laws and
regulations.
In the transportation litigation field, Mr. Reisman
has represented railroads, aviation component manufactures, fixed
base operators, truck lines and bus lines.
Mr. Reisman is a recipient of the International
Academy of Trial Lawyers Award for Distinguished Achievement in the
Art and Science of Advocacy. He is a former Appointments Assistant
to the President of the United States and serves as the President of
the Georgia/Tennessee Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation
of America. He is a member of the Atlanta and American Bar
Associations; the State Bar of Georgia; the Association for
Transportation Law, Logistics and Policy; and the National
Association of Railroad Trial Counsel.
